Welcome to One Community Church!
Our (English Ministry) Congregation began in 2001 with about ten members. In our short history, we found ourselves attracting people who have been away from church and away from God. We have been attracting people who have been turned off by their previous church experiences.
It is our hope to reach many more people as we help them to restore their relationship with God. We are not a judgmental or legalistic community. We are a community that celebrates God's grace, and yet pursues spiritual maturity. We strive to empower our members to grow in their personal relationship with God.
No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, we invite you to come and see what God is doing in our church.
Richmond Baptist Church (Korean Ministry) started in 1979. Pastor Hoon Bae has been serving as the Senior Pastor of RBC since 1982, and retired in 2008.
The English Ministry of RBC started in June 2001 with Pastor Sam Shin and a group of about ten young people. In October of 2003, Sam Shin moved on to pursue his calling as a Youth Pastor at San Jose FKBC. Erin Bishop served as an associate pastor from August 2003 until September of 2004.
In March 2004, Joseph Chu began to serve as the lead pastor for the English Ministry. In 2005 the English Ministry became financially independent from the Korean Ministry.
Starting April 2008, DeWayne Strange leads the English Ministry as the lead pastor, and the name of the church was updated to One Community Church.
